We kicked off the season with two free cooking events held close together. The first was at New Carrollton Public Library on Feb. 10. Two days later on Feb. 12, we headed to Weller Road Elementary School in Silver Spring. Both events gave families a fun, in-person demonstration on how to cook healthy meals without breaking the bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chef Giacomo Scuito was back for his third year as our featured chef. A history teacher from Montgomery County, Chef Scuito knows how to keep things simple and fun. He made a tasty dish called Creamy Zucchini Fettucine, and the smell of fresh garlic and basil had everyone hungry before the first bite. Along the way, he shared easy-to-follow healthy cooking tips that anyone can try at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with samples of the dish, guests received a free copy of the <em>Good and Cheap <\/em>cookbook \u2014 full of healthy, low-cost recipes that families can make on their own. Healthy Hacks is one of the many ways Priority Partners works to support the health of our members and our communities.
