Making Maryland Medicaid Members Our Priority Priority Partners is a Maryland managed care organization that provides health care services through Medicaid, Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP), and Medical Assistance for Families recipients.

Along with Johns Hopkins Medicine, we work with seven Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in Maryland. FQHCs give care to children and adults in the community, no matter their ability to pay. FQHCs have a strong history of helping people get healthier, especially those with low income. We are proud to work together to support the health of our communities.

Can I Join?

You may qualify for Maryland Medicaid based on your income, family size, age, disability or health needs. Learn more about who can join and how to apply.

Managing diabetes is more than checking your blood sugar or taking medicine. Work with your doctor to make a care plan, and ask about these tests.

This blood test shows your average blood sugar over the past 2 to 3 months. It helps your doctor see if your care plan is working or needs to change. Learn more about the A1c test.

Diabetes can damage your eyes and cause vision loss. The most common eye problem is called diabetic retinopathy. Get a dilated eye exam once a year. Your eye doctor uses drops to see inside your eyes. This exam can find problems early, when they can still be treated.

Diabetes can also damage your kidneys. This is called diabetic kidney disease. Get a urine test every year. It checks for protein in your urine, which can be an early sign of kidney damage.

The Cupboards Project is a growing network of self-serve mini-pantries that provide free healthy food and nutrition information to Maryland neighborhoods in need. Our mini-pantries work by a simple motto: “Take What You Need, Leave What You Can.”
