Chlamydia Screening

What is this screening?

A urine test to check for the infection or a swab of the cervix. Chlamydia is a common sexually transmitted disease that can infect both men and women. It can also cause permanent damage to a woman’s reproductive system, making pregnancy difficult or impossible.

Who needs this screening?

All sexually active women age 24 or younger, including pregnant women, should be screened. Women age 25 or older should also be screened if they are at increased risk for infection.
