Find the Right Doctor or Facility When You Need It

Different situations call for different kinds of care. Use our search tool to find a doctor, urgent care center, or hospital close to you.

Unless it’s a true emergency, Priority Partners always recommends calling your doctor first. Your doctor might see you right away, make an appointment for you for another day, or tell you to go to the nearest urgent care center or emergency room.

Go to your doctor for sprains and strains, minor cuts and burns, colds and coughs, fevers, rashes or minor swelling, and for check-ups and vaccinations.

Go to urgent care for non-emergencies like back pain, headache, earache, sore throat, frequent urination, and minor illnesses or injuries. Use an urgent care center when your doctor’s office is closed and you can’t wait until the next appointment.

Go to the emergency room or call 911 if your life is in danger or there is a chance for severe damage to your body. Some examples include poisoning or drug overdose, trouble breathing, car accidents, bleeding or vomiting that can’t be controlled, chest pain, broken bones, or an allergic reaction.

Need care quickly for a minor injury or illness? If you can’t see your primary doctor, try Johns Hopkins OnDemand Virtual Care for a video visit, any time, no matter where you are.
