Priority Partners was in Annapolis on Oct. 11 to host the exciting launch event of three new mobile pantries. Operated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County and Harford and Cecil Counties, the “Club On The Go” mobile pantries are the latest triumph of the Priority Partners Cupboards Project. Custom designed and smartly outfitted, the trio of converted transport vehicles are now bringing free healthy food and nutrition resources along with Boys & Girls Club programming to Maryland neighborhoods.
The launch event took place at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County and included kids’ activities, games, face painting and healthy snacks, including an apple nachos cooking demonstration courtesy of event sponsor Michele’s Granola. The unveiling of the Club On The Go pantries represents the ongoing fulfillment of Priority Partners’ community initiative to combat food insecurity, which includes free-standing neighborhood sharing pantries, three of which are already installed, as well as this new mobile pantry fleet.
Priority Partners’ Ed Kumian, Nina Everett, Kathy Pettway, Karen Dixon, and Kris Moody; Community Health Advocates Valencia Henriques and Liz Matienzo-Bray; and Anne Arundel County Executive Stuart Pittman were all there to support and celebrate the milestone event.
